There must be something special about the clusters of small blooms. This one would hover for some time over the abundance
of flowers before it would descend on only the clusters of small flower blooms. Hummingbird Moth.

Early morning mist from the Chattahoochee River begins to surround the Nacoochee Mound just outside of Helen Georgia at the intersection of Georgia State Route 17 and Georgia State Route 75. Although the site has been steeped in a rich history of folklore and legends it still remains a colorful bit of Georgia history.

  • After Lunch Nap

    After Lunch Nap

After Lunch Nap. Upon arriving home from work one day I discovered a family of three deer, a Doe and two fawns, enjoying the apples that had fallen from the tree in my neighbor’s yard. I park the car and went into the house which did not seem to disturb the trio. I gathered up my camera and went out the back door so I could approach the trio without being very obvious. It must have worked because the three were reclining on the lawn after the day’s meal. The hill they had chosen to lay on and enjoy the late afternoon sun sloped away from me so that the second fawn could not be seen. They seemed to be relaxed and somewhat secure. I have seen them on other occasions in the neighborhood.

  • Travel Days Gone By

    Travel Days Gone By

This rail car or coach, an impressive industrial marvel of engineering for its time, is really bleak compared to the one I remember riding in to Macon to see my father one weekend sometime in the 50’s.
Dad, a traveling salesman in the city of Macon, thought it would be a great adventure if mom and I rode the train down from Atlanta and spent the weekend with him, so we boarded the Nancy Hanks II in Atlanta to go visit.
The train was a wonderful sleek diesel powered passenger train with all the least. The trip is only a shadow of a memory but I still admire the amazing steel rocket of my child hood and have a great fondness of trains that was instilled in me by my father’s love of trains.

  • I see you!

    I see you!

Found this big guy at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center. This section of the enclosure where the bison are kept was made of very large post the size of a telephone pole placed close together like a picket fence with openings about six inches between each post. As I was positing my self to make this image I could see his eye following me. I think this may have been his opinion of my intrusion on his space.
